About Us

Caroline & Sheldon. That's us! We are a young(ish) married couple looking for adventure and wanting to travel throughout the African continent.

So where did this all begin? 

Well, there are three possible starts to this story. I (Sheldon) grew up travelling throughout South Africa, soon the feeling of wanderlust and adventure started to grow, but that I suppose is for another story.

The second start to this adventure was when I met Caroline. She was less travelled than I and so travelling together really created a bond and we knew that exploring and travelling was something we wanted to pursue. We decided after we got married to purchase an old Land Rover Discovery and start our overlanding journey.

However, as with many things in life, things don't always go according to plan. That brings us to the third start of this story and possibly the best place to start this blog. Two months before our wedding, Caroline was involved in car accident and her little fiat was written off. This is what accelerated our 4x4 purchase and we ended up with our little Suzuki Jimny which we named Louis.
